Going Places with Ernie Dingo featuring BTF guide Steve Sertis

In the latest episode of Going Places with Ernie Dingo, airing on SBS, Mark Coles Smith and the team explore one of the country’s most cherished natural landscapes: the Bibbulmun Track.

The Bibbulmun Track is celebrated for its diversity of landscapes, from towering forests to wild coastlines, and serves as a cultural and ecological link for both locals and tourists alike. We are given a glimpse of this stunning 1,000-kilometre trail that stretches from Kalamunda, just outside Perth, to Albany on the south coast with this segment focusing on Walpole!

The episode also highlights the significance of the Bibbulmun Track Foundation, an organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the Track’s unique beauty and heritage. We loved seeing our beloved BTF Guide, Steve Sertis join the journey. Steve’s experience on the Track, combined with his extensive knowledge really, gives viewers an insight into the Track’s challenges and rewards.

Venturing through a small section, the interview shone a light on some of the stories embedded in the landscape, highlighted ongoing conservation efforts and offered some understanding of the Tracks cultural and natural significance.

The Foundation plays a crucial role in maintaining the Track, ensuring it remains accessible to hikers and tourists while protecting the environment. With a focus on sustainability and conservation, the Foundation’s work helps to safeguard the trail’s future for generations to come.
