Track Towns and Supplies
- How many days did you stay in Track Towns? 5
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? No
- My resupply boxes were held at the Visitors Centres and because I have lots of food allergies it was comforting to know I had my own food ready and waiting at each stop. The staff at the Visitors Centres were so friendly and welcoming. Much appreciated.

Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsSet the goal. Plan and prepare. Train with a full pack. Do the E2E workshop - twice! Shake down trips are very valuable. Get the footwear right. Walk your way to fitness. Enjoy all the experiences on track. Nothing is permanent. be flexible. The bad times will pass just as the good times will. Trust the journey - the track will reveal its wisdom despite you!
Your Best Equipment
Closed cell foam mat to roll and stretch every night and morning.
Your Worst Equipment
Water filters! Sawyer - burst two bags in first week. Grayl - blocked after 4 days! Katadyn did the trick but did need regular cleaning...tannins are the enemy of mechanical filtering.
Advice for Others
Test your gear before heading out and then just relax into what you have and what you are carrying. There will always be someone with better, lighter, more versatile equipment. It's surprising and pleasing how little we need to not just survive but to thrive.
