Track Towns and Supplies
- How many days did you stay in Track Towns? 10
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? No
- We did all the food drops/resupply ourselves which was worth it and thankfully after all my research I had our boxes held at each of our accommodations. This worked out really well because others on the track had their resupply boxes at the visitor centres but often they were closed for days at a time so people either had to them buy more food to head out of town on time or wait until the visitor centres opened and delayed leaving the towns.

- Balingup

- Denmark

Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsThis was such an epic trip and experience. It was so worthwhile to invest time into doing from Kalamunda to Albany at once. Quite transformative personally really - not because of it being an achievement, but because of what I was able to learn about myself along the way and what it offered. It was challenging at times, cruisy at others. This meant that at times we were seriously focused and at others laughing and also day dreaming. Will cherish this forever.
Your Best Equipment
Tricky to pick - either my jacket that i bought with the purpose of it keeping me warm which it did a great job of, or the tent which provided privacy, time out, a space to rest and relax all whilst keeping me dry and warm.
Your Worst Equipment
Inflatable pillow. It broke on the first night unfortunately.
Advice for Others
I would consider it really important to prepare for the trail and give yourself a good amount of lead in time for this. Plan carefully- consider what your capacity and capability is and don’t ask too much of yourself too often. Take a break at the towns, have days where you single hut frequently and allow yourself to take it in to make the most of the opportunity. Take time to walk and slow down. Rushing to get to the end like we saw people do just takes the magic away. Take a tent. Shelters can be full or have critters or need work done. Sometimes camps are very busy too. Not taking a tent potentially creates worry and anxiety to secure a place to sleep and removes your option of having time to yourself or to be independent.

Highlight of your trip
Really loved the tingle trees and karri Forrests. These were just beautiful and awe inspiring trees and parts of the track. Also loved finding lots of orchids. I just couldn’t believe how beautiful they all are and how excited I got when I would see a new one each time. This made it hard to know where to look as I walked - ahead, at the ground or on the front or side of me. Gee, there was so much to take in which was awesome. More holistically having the sense of freedom of just walking each day was so enlightening.
