Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- Very commercial but I will learn to dehydrate my own food next time. Maybe more frequent food drops to reduce weight of pack. Also may spend some extra money on light weight supplies now that I have seen what gear/gadgets other walkers were using!
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsWhat an Opportunity and what an experience! Thanks to the Bibbulmun Foundation, the DBCA officers and volunteers who care for the track for us to enjoy and the many "Track Angels" who make the experience possible and more seamless and enjoyable!
Your Best Equipment
Double insulated mug!
Your Worst Equipment
Heavy tent!
Advice for Others
Have some discussion with other walkers and do a few short one or two night walks to get to know your equipment and what else you may need or don't need. Do not only rely on the commercial outlets for tips! Maybe do a Bibbulmun hosted intro walk. Lots of information available from other walkers who have done the track. Take time to research food options and do your own dehydration it is all part of the experience and journey!
Trip Details
How you completed the Bibbulmun Track:- All at once
- Who did you complete the Track with? Solo (primarily)
- Was undertaking your hike the PRIMARY/MAIN purpose of your TRAVEL from where you currently live? No
Your Experience
Perth Hills were a wonder as they were new to me, the Karri Forrest was amazing and the plains were dramatic but the South Coast was wild and spectacular (but harder).
Highlight of your trip
The people I met on the way and had the privilege to share the experience with especially around the fire. The Sunsets and Sunrises over the different horizons.
