Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- Very happy I dehydrated over half of my own food (dips, snacks, curries, mexican beans, satay, miso, pastas) & posted them along the way. This allowed me to enjoy meals I have at home. While buying half of my meals in larger towns allowed me to change up snacks, use extra meals & support local businesses (health food shops, cooperatives, supermarkets).
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsCompleting the Bibbulmun track was an adventure that far exceeded my expectations. Experiencing the spring flora and diverse fauna, towering forests & wild oceans, meeting amazing people & seeing incredible places, along with overcoming struggles and celebrating achievements it was amazing! The only thing missing along the track was historical & cultural information about the Noongar people.
Your Best Equipment
Small pot with clip lock lid - great for rehydrating food in the day & cooking with at night (good find at the op shop) Osprey Pack Exos 58L, Sea to Summit lightweight mat
Your Worst Equipment
Changed my tent half way from a lightweight 2 person to a very lightweight 1 person.
Advice for Others
Leave some flexibility in your schedule. Enjoy the track and don't rush to the hut each day. Have a wonderful time!

Your Experience
The diversity from Pemberton - Walpole was the best. I felt mentally immersed in the walk. I enjoyed the huge Karri trees, swimming at Schafer campsite, experiencing the change of vegetation and white sands past Northcliffe, sunrise at Lake Maringup, surprising wildflowers in the Pingerup Plains, reaching the coast with incredible views, and finishing the section with a sneak peek of the Tingle Trees to come.
Highlight of your trip
So many - a wedge tail eagle flying over head on top of Boonering Hill, watching the sunrise at Lake Maringup, walking through hail storms in the Pingerup Plains, reaching Mandalay Beach in gale winds, standing inside Tingle trees, looking out across the cliffs & turquoise waters, walking through wildflowers and meeting wonderful people all along the way.
