Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- When leaving town, wrap that half-empty tub of ice cream in your beanie and devour at a pretty rest stop of your choosing. Protein powder and sports energy (carb + electrolyte) powder was a pragmatic way to meet nutritional and fueling needs!
Your Story or Advice for Others
Your Best EquipmentGeoff the golfball, found during a bush wee. Invaluable for rolling out my feet and sore muscles. My Aeropress coffee maker and REAL coffee. Poles, courtesy of Mel and Troy of Hike Hire when I met them at Yabberup. Fixamull, so my hips weren't raw and bleeding. Just bruised and swollen. Merino undies!
Your Worst Equipment
The absence of a down jacket and gloves on those sub 5 degree mornings!
Advice for Others
If you hear that call to do it, listen. Then rearrange your life so you can do it. Once you begin, let go of how you thought it would be. Let it be and the present moment will set you free.
Trip Details
How you completed the Bibbulmun Track:- All at once
- Who did you complete the Track with? Solo (primarily)
- Was undertaking your hike the PRIMARY/MAIN purpose of your TRAVEL from where you currently live? No
Your Experience
Northcliffe to Walpole! Splashing in the puddles on the plains, a wildflower explosion, meeting the unruly Southern Ocean, sunrises and sunsets both over the ocean.
Highlight of your trip
Watching the sun plop into the Southern Ocean sitting atop rugged cliffs with an icy wind stinging my face, flanked by my new pals and kindred spirits Liv and Luke. Icy river dips. Toasty fires. Fresh coffee in bed. Meeting new orchids.
