Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- I organised my own Breakfast & Dinners in supply boxes but purchased lunches in the track towns. All the towns had ample lunch supplies. The track town local businesses could not have been more friendly and helpful.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsMy gratitude & acknowledgement to the Bibbulmun Track Foundation, the Clans of the Noongar Nation and the WA Government for allowing walkers to enjoy such a magnificent track. I loved my first solo hike immeasurably. Im so missing the track; though Im loving my own bed! I would do it again in a heart beat.
Your Best Equipment
Loved my little cocoon (Hubba Hubba 1p tent) that fitted discreetly in the shelters, even under bunks. My Nalgene water bottle that doubled as a hot water bottle on the cold nights- (-3 at Nerang!)
Your Worst Equipment
Not the worst, but my 500g Helinox chair whilst a comfort, was not worth carrying for 1000km! Sent home from Denmark.
Advice for Others
Relish in the Landscape!
Trip Details
How you completed the Bibbulmun Track:- All at once
- Who did you complete the Track with? Solo (primarily)
- Was undertaking your hike the PRIMARY/MAIN purpose of your TRAVEL from where you currently live? No
Your Experience
Whilst I loved the Tingle/ Karri forests, The section from Dwellingup to Kalamunda was my favourite given the fantastic diversity of plants perfectly adapted to their environment and sooo... different to their plant families on the East Coast.
Highlight of your trip
The wild south coast beaches. The Tingle trees. The company of strangers/ fellow hikers on the track. The isolation/tranquility of being the only person in the shelter. Loving all the crazy/ beautiful plants in WA
