Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- I dehydrated food and sent on food drops to the towns before I left. I felt having bigger portioned meals for dinner was a positive for me being such a big eater. Towns were good for fresh food.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsThe walk of this track is an amazing journey and would recommend it to anyone even thinking about doing it. For someone that had never done an overnight hike before this 2 month adventure was way out of my comfort zone. Learnt so much about myself and nature. Meet so many amazing and interesting people which made this whole journey that much more memorable.
Your Best Equipment
My salomon boots and sock liners got me through the track with only 2 small blisters. Also my osprey 70L pack and trekking poles.
Your Worst Equipment
My sea to summit mattress only because it sounded like I was on a chip packet other then that it was a comfortable mattress. Everything else worked for me.
Advice for Others
Pack up your bag and go do not hesitate and dwell on it because getting out and doing this is such an amazing experience. You learn so much about yourself and you grow as a human. Go for it!
Trip Details
How you completed the Bibbulmun Track:- All at once
- Who did you complete the Track with? Solo (primarily)
- Was undertaking your hike the PRIMARY/MAIN purpose of your TRAVEL from where you currently live? No
Your Experience
This is such a hard one to pick because the whole track threw something different at you everyday you were walking. If I had to pick one or two it would be Collie to Balingup or Walpole to Peaceful Bay.
Highlight of your trip
There were way to many highlights from the beautiful sunsets to the sunrises down the south coast. The coastal walks or the walks under all the tree tops. Walking through the hail was on another level and added that little bit more of adventure. Also there was a night rocking up to boarding house with 11 of us staying in a 12 man hut while it was raining so no one was setting up tents. It was a night that I will never forget.
