Your Story or Advice for Others
General Commentsthe trail was a lot messier this year than 2019 when i completed my end to end. large sections (west cape howe, coming into balingup from grimwade, gregory brooke - still a mess after 2 years) was so overgrown it was unpleasant . dog pool to woolbales was a shocker. someone had gone in there and chopped vegetation and left it all in the path. a After continuous rain it was a slippery mess and made for some uncomfortable walking, and witnessed people doing an ankle. the new improvements to a good portion of shelters was pleasing and the water tanks all looked new
Your Best Equipment
umbrella considering the rain and the sun the first 7 days of trail chair sling for thermorest sleep mat - being confined to tent in rain and cold great to have something to lean against One planet -10C bungle sleeping bag. getting in to shelter cold and wet a sleeping bag of that quality made all the difference rain pants 100% take them especially may/June walking
Your Worst Equipment
selfie stick used it once and sent it home osprey 65L Aura was a bit disappointing it’s waist band pinched my hip bones but i managed to create sock donuts from spare socks and gave a bit of relief
Advice for Others
do training, gym or otherwise before going on trail. too many injuries observed in people this year that thought this was a walk in the park rain pants, definitely. going in April and ending up finishing in June the weather and the overgrown sections will treat you like you a car in a car wash and, pants and jacket waterproof saved me big time. walking this time of year don’t take less then 4pr socks, they just don’t dry
