General Comments
If travelling northbound ensure very good physical fitness in order to traverse the soft sandy beaches and steep sandhills of the south coast.

Advice for Others
Don’t stint on footwear, wear new boots in before setting out, ensure a good pedicure before hiking, use products such as Fixumol to protect feet from blisters, supplement paper maps with an app such as FarOut. Leave the track cleaner than you find it.

Your Experience

• Availability of information: Great - I used the BTF and DFES websites extensively for track and prescribed burning/wildfire information; and BOM site for weather information.
• Amount of Wildlife Encountered: Fair - A single Dunnart at Canning hut, which ran over my bare feet and checked out our equipment and bedding before disappearing back under the sleeping platform.
