Carey Baptist College students now helping to maintain the Track
A small group of Carey Baptist College Year 9 students from the newly formed ‘Bibb Track Club’ travelled to the south coast to help maintain an 8km stretch of the Bibbulmun Track between Peaceful Bay and Denmark.
The club from Harrisdale campus has ‘adopted’ this section of the Track, which includes some spectacular and rugged coastline, to care for. Students braved the elements as they hiked, trimmed, pruned and laughed their way up and down dunes and wild beaches.
The Bibb Track Club is for Middle School students and the maintenance trip will be offered to Year 9 club members each year. Year 7-8 students will undertake shorter hikes on the Bibbulmun Track closer to Perth.
The College is looking forward to offering its students these unique opportunities!
