Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsGreat long-distance walk. Very well set-up and maintained, and generally well supported by the track towns.
Your Best Equipment
Boots, kept my feet in good condition. Gaiters, gave me peace of mind, and kept my feet dry on the Pingerup Plains. iNaturalist app, which allowed me to record the amazing diversity of plants (along with a few animals and fungi), and get help with identifying them.
Your Worst Equipment
A leaking sleeping mat.

Northcliffe to Walpole. Started challengingly with Gardner and Maringup closed, with a 40+ km diversion to Dog Pool, which we did in a long-but-flat day. Then we had four nights during which we saw only one other person, walking the other way. Socialising with other walkers was fun, but relative solitude in the remote Pingerup Plains area was a pleasant change.
Highlight of your trip
The diversity of flowers, particularly on the Pingerup Plains, the open areas among the northern jarrah, and the south coast.
