Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- I chickened out of dehydrating my own food as I was concerned about getting it into WA. In hindsight, there is a lot more leniency for hiking food than I realised. Would definitely dehydrate my own food if I were to do it again.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsThe track has been on my bucket list for nearly 20 years. Having planned and researched over the last 6 months before setting off, it exceeded all my expectations. Wonderful track and fantastic support through the foundation, the volunteers, the track angels, the track town businesses and all the people willing to share their experience.
Your Best Equipment
Sea to summit altitude 750 sleeping bag (-4 to -12). Kept me warm the whole way, and has a zipper at the bottom to poke my feet out if I need to. Big Agnes Copper Spur tent UL1. Easy to set up, free standing to set up in the hut if need to, and withstood significant wind.
Your Worst Equipment
Sea to summit pocket shower, absolutely useless and unnecessary. Went home very early in the hike!
Advice for Others
There is a lot of advice out there, but work out what works for you. Don't need to have the best or what everyone else has, as long as it works for you, then it's good.

Your Experience
There are so many. Loved the Karri forests between Balingup and Pemberton. Wool Bales to Long point was a big day for change of scenery from plains to dunes to coast. It was a very emotional experience hitting the south coast for the first time. Coming into the Tingles at Mt Clare. Favourite day was from Peaceful Bay to Boat Harbour because I loved the canoeing, and went for a swim at the beach at Boat Harbour. Glorious!
Highlight of your trip
The people you meet on the track and along the way. It was something I wasn't expecting, and easily one of the things I loved most about the experience.
