Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- We were surprised that the US ultra-light movement has swept through Australia too when we were not looking. We are now totally 'old-school' carrying ancient relics such as a Trangia and cooking our own meals - with real food - instead of subsisting on BackCountry. It was very interesting to see all the latest light-weight equipment in use, we got lots of new ideas.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsWe enjoyed a sectional E2E over 14 years, walking from Balingup to Pemberton in 2008, then Walpole to Albany in 2013, before tacking the remain sections of the hike - some 650km - in may-June 2022.
Your Best Equipment
Collapsible umbrellas.
Your Worst Equipment
Bringing a battery charger. We didn't use it and eventually mailed it back home.
Advice for Others
Make sure your hiking shoes a half a size larger than your normal shoes. Don't buy one of those squeaky Sea to Summit inflatable mats. You will keep the whole hut awake!
