Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- I always post my food parcels from Sydney before I head west. I've never had any problems with them. I also dehydrate my own meals, so all my food is sorted before I get on the plane.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsIn 2016 and 2019 I walked south from Perth down to Pemberton in 2016 and Northcliffe in 2019. This year, I was walking in Autumn, so I walked north to Collie. Stepping into Northcliffe meant that I'd completed a section end-to-end this year, with another 500 or so km in credit.
Your Best Equipment
Modern sleeping mats and pillows have changed walking for me. The fun can run out pretty quick if you don't get a good sleep and with mat and pillows there days sleeping well is so much easier. (Did I really use a 3/4 self inflating pad?)
Your Worst Equipment
Everything I use works well for me. If I do complain, it is mostly about my feet and knees.
Advice for Others
I have noticed that people are walking the track faster these days than they did 10 or 20 years ago. My advice is "don't rush". I read comments from people i the books at either end where people are sad that their time on the track is almost over. Go a little slower and it'll last a little longer.

Your Experience
Donnelly River to Pemberton. I have been to Tom Road hut seven times I realised when I passed through this year. I always forget just how little I like the hills between Beavis and Boarding house.
