Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- I dehydrated all my dinners and fruits for snacks. It was very satisfying and healthier ... and cheaper than anything else! I dropped four parcels along the way to resupply: Dwellingup, Balingup, Pemberton and Walpole.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsI wanted to walk the Track to connect with Country. As the days passed I felt like becoming part of the track. Day by day it was not anymore about stepping on the path, but I started flowing through the forest, then through the sand dunes. The time I used to know lost sense and a new pace I embraced. Sleeping when it is dark, getting up at first light. Waking up in the middle of the night, for a wee surely, but always amazed by the thousands of stars shining and telling the stories of the past, present, and future. In some way, the adventure was like a game.
Your Best Equipment
The little GoToob from Humangear filled with olive oil, multitask, I used it for cooking and oiling my feet every morning. Results: not a single blister, perfectly moisturised skin, and delicious meals!
Your Worst Equipment
Probably the worst thing was to not have this equipment: a pillow.
Advice for Others
Walk the track the way you want it to. Everyone has their own style and whys, just do it your way!
Trip Details
How you completed the Bibbulmun Track:- All at once
- Who did you complete the Track with? Solo (primarily)
- Was undertaking your hike the PRIMARY/MAIN purpose of your TRAVEL from where you currently live? No
Your Experience
It is hard to pick one because each section was different and my mental state was also different in each section. Maybe the one with the best combination of my state and the track was between Walpole and Albany, I like an open view on the horizon and I am in love with the ocean.
Highlight of your trip
The amazing sunrise on top of Mount Cuthbert; the foggy morning in the forest just outside of Pemberton; and of course meeting the Southern Ocean before Walpole.
