Canning Campsite survives bushfire

On January 9 a bushfire swept through the section south of the Brookton Hwy near Fourways Rd. It burned through approximately 945 hectares of State Forest.
Much of the Track was affected.
This was a severe fire and it is amazing to see that the shelter survived it. It came within a whisker of burning to the ground.
We wish to thank all involved in fighting this blaze which was started by lightning.
The Track from Brookton Hwy and Sullivan Rock including both Canning and Monadnocks Campsites are now open.
