In an effort to walk in the bush, I joined Bushwalkers WA in 2006. The love of wildness must be in my blood, because the first day walk I did in the bush had got me hooked. Since then I have walked here and there, interstate and overseas. I enjoy overnight multi-day walks most, and have managed to tick some of the well-known tracks in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe off my bucket list; but the track that I enjoyed most is our Bibbulmun Track. Moving along on it, I get a sense of freedom, and a degree of peace and tranquillity that is more than I was able to obtain from any other trails I have walked. I don’t know a long distant track that is like our Bibbulmun that is so well marked, with water and beautiful shelters located at comfortable distance intervals, and the use of all it has on offer is free. A track that has given me so much joy deserves my little effort in helping to keep it free for all to access and enjoy. I appreciate the opportunity to become a Track maintenance volunteer and volunteer guide for the Bibbulmun track Foundation.

Hi, I have been bitten by the hiking bug and enjoy anything from a leisurely jaunt to a multiple day hike through our wonderful bush. I have enjoyed walking and hiking interstate and overseas and feel so lucky to have the Bibbulmun Track as a fantastic escape to nature right on our doorstep. I’ve managed several end-to-ends and have enjoyed many stretches on multiple occasions. I have met a number of wonderful people along the way and hope to be able to experience walking with you soon.
